The difference between EOBD and OBD1

The main difference between between these two systems can said to be the addition of an extra O2 sensor behind the cat as can be seen from the image on this page.
Also the software has been changed to run more tests during the operation of the engine

you can see from this image that there is less activity from the second O2 sensor once this activity is increased a warning light will be illuminated in front of the drivers face on the instrument cluster.this warning light is called the (M.I.L) malfunction indicator light,There is also a service engine soon (S.E.S) light which is for non emission related
