Having been licienced since 1980 in 1984 i joined an organisation called raynet this organisation is national and was setup to provide various government bodies and agencys with emergency comms in times of disaster .
The most memorable disaster if there is such a thing !
was the lockerbie air explosion ,during the time i spent on the incident i was allocated the tactical callsign SANTA 3 this was used because of the RAF involvement ,a fleet of pumas and chinooks were used to ferry search teams
out onto the hills around lockerbie.
